Celebrating a Rising Star: Naomi’s Journey in Aviation
At Medavia, we believe that nurturing talent is just as vital as maintaining aircraft. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond engineering it lives in the stories of the people who make our team exceptional. One such story is that of Naomi, a first-year apprentice in avionics, who was recently selected as a finalist for the Rising Star Award 2025, by the Woman In Aviation Malta, a recognition that celebrates emerging talent in Malta Aviation Sector.
This achievement is a testament to Naomi’s dedication, ambition, and passion for the field. Despite being new to the industry, she has already made a lasting impression, not only within Medavia but across the wider aviation community.
Reflecting on the moment she was announced as a finalist, Naomi said, “I was very happy. It was kind of a surprise because I’m still a first year student, I’m still learning, so it’s an honor to be selected amongst all the rising star, great women in the Aviation industry. It means that the path I took is a good one and that the work I put in is being recognized. As a beginner, it can be scary at first, but this nomination helped me feel like I’m doing a good job. I think women need to work much harder to be recognized, but there are so many talented women in aviation. This journey has taught me courage, strength, and responsibility. I’ve learned to work diligently, ask questions, and take pride in what I do, and I’m grateful for the support from my parents, my partner, my lecturers, and my mentor Edward at Medavia. To all the women and young girls out there if you are serious about aviation, take the leap, there are great opportunities in aviation. Winning would be amazing, but being a finalist is already more than I expected.”
As the final event approaches in the coming days, to select the winner, we wish Naomi every success. Her story is already a source of pride for all of us at Medavia, and we hope her achievements continue to be recognized across Malta aviation sector and beyond.
