Deputy Manager Safety and Compliance Monitoring

Position Overview

Deputy Manager Safety and Compliance Monitoring, supports both the Safety Management System (SMS) and the Compliance Monitoring (CM) functions by turning plans and policies into day‑to‑day activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled internal and external audits from the approved Audit Plan.
  • Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and inspections, verifying implementation and effectiveness before closure.
  • Support audits, assessments and inspections of subcontracted and contracted organisations and suppliers as required.
  • Support preparation for competent authority and customer audits, including compiling evidence, coordinating interviews/briefings, and supporting on‑site audit activities.
  • Perform targeted spot checks (e.g. documentation control, task card completion, logbook entries, tool control, calibration status, stores and material handling,) and record results in the findings database.
  • Maintain compliance monitoring records, including audit plans, checklists, reports, minutes, evidence files, personnel training, and personnel authorisation records.
  • Supports with reviews and amendments of MOE and Compliance Monitoring procedures.
  • Administer the hazard and occurrence reporting system (mandatory and voluntary), ensuring timely logging, initial risk classification and routing to appropriate owners for action.
  • Maintain and update the safety risk register; support detailed risk assessments and monitor safety action plans until closure.
  • Support investigations of occurrences, incidents and significant findings, identifying root causes and contributing human/organisational factors and documenting conclusions and recommendations.
  • Prepare regular safety performance information (e.g. SPIs, trends, top hazards, repeat events, human‑error hotspots) for management review and shop‑floor feedback.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety promotion activities such as safety briefings, toolbox talks, campaigns, training material newsletters and intranet / noticeboard content.
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence on the hangar floor, encouraging open reporting and supports personnel on SMS and compliance monitoring issues.

Knowledge, Skills and qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of maintenance operations and Part‑145 procedures.
  • 3 years experience in an EASA part 145 organisation in an appropriate position.
  • EASA Part 66 B1/B2/ or C licence or an appropriate technical Degree.
  • Skilled and trained in auditing, advanced SMS techniques and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels from technicians to senior management.
