Ian Busuttil – Head of ICT & Support Services
Ian Busuttil is Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Support Services at Mediterranean Aviation Company Ltd. (Medavia). Ian joined Medavia’s Technical Purchasing department in 1991 and started gaining knowledge and experience on purchasing and supply chain management within the aviation industry.
A few years later Ian became a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom. Ian participated in the installation of the Medavia’s first MRO system in 1992 and throughout the years his aptitude towards the information technology led him to start managing the IT requirements of the company. During this period he became familiar with the various business processes within the Company and as the Assistant Technical Purchasing Manager, he later supervised the deployment of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP.
In 2008 Ian was appointed ICT Manager and started managing the information infrastructure and systems at Medavia, and led the design and deployment project NAVair, an integrated aviation maintenance management and planning solution in a joint venture with a specialist organisation. From the start of 2016 as Head of ICT and Support Services, Ian now also handles ICT Procurement and manages the Company’s Support Services that include Facility, Transportation, Corporate Travel and Insurance.
Ian who is a Henley Business School MBA graduate has an interest in Knowledge Management and Business Continuity Planning, the subjects of his MBA dissertation. He shares his life with his wife and son, and enjoys sea kayak touring.
