Aurelio Micallef Grimaud – Head of CAMO
Ing. A. Micallef Grimaud, born in 1962, studied at St. Aloysius’ College B’Kara, Sixth Form, Valletta and the University of Malta, where he graduated with honours B.Mech.Eng, in 1986. He started his career at Air Malta, working in various sections within the engineering department, while continuing his studies in the aviation sector, both in Malta and abroad. From 1996 -1999 he was posted in Italy as Maintenance Manager for a regional airline, serving mainly European destinations.
In 2002, he joined Lufthansa Technik Malta as Maintenance Manager, setting up the Technical Operations Department and in 2007, due to the rapid expansion of the company, he took over the business development function as Chief Commercial Officer.
In 2011, he joined the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology as Director of the Institute of Mecanical Engineering and in 2015, became the Director of the newly formed Institute of Engineering and Transport, encompassing the Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Aviation and Manufacturing training streams.
Since 2016, Ing. Micallef Grimaud has joined Medavia Operations as Head of the Continuing Airworthiness Department, responsible for the technical management of the Medavia fleet.
