Structures Team Supervisor


Position Overview

The Structures Team Supervisor leads a team of aircraft structure repair personnel, supporting maintenance projects to ensure tasks are executed on time and in compliance with aviation industry standards and procedures. This role demands strong technical expertise in structural damage assessment and repair, along with leadership skills to effectively coordinate and supervise maintenance activities.
They must be flexible; work shifts as necessary, support the Line and Team Leaders ensuring project targets are met.
The Structures Team Supervisor assists the Head of Base Maintenance in establishing efficient and effective operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule sheet metal and composite damage assessments and repair tasks in line with project timelines, minimizing downtime.
  • Supervise and guide technicians and support staff during daily operations.
  • Perform inspections and damage assessments as needed.
  • Ensure efficient documentation flow.
  • Allocate tasks to ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks adhere to organizational procedures, manufacturer specifications, client quality standards, and safety and compliance protocols.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to communicate project status, task priorities, and operational updates, ensuring coordination among all stakeholders.
  • Receive work requests from the Line Leader, Team Leader, and client or operator.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance support departments and base maintenance teams.
  • Identify and promptly report safety and compliance hazards or risks.
  • Recommend process and procedure improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee individual and team performance to meet department goals and deadlines.
  • Assist with compiling maintenance progress and performance reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations and aviation safety standards.
  • Preferably holds an EASA Part 66 B1 license with relevant type ratings.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an EASA Part 145 environment, with a proven track record in aircraft maintenance and repair, demonstrating solid experience in structural damage assessments and repair principles.
  • Proficient in the use of SRM, and skilled in interpreting repair drawings and other repair documentation.
  • Familiar with the process of damage assessments, repair, and technical reporting to the OEM.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a maintenance team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and motivate staff.
  • Strong organizational skills, with effective time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Computer literate.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
