Deputy Safety & Security Manager


Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Assisting the Safety Manager in the implementation of the EASA and IOSA compliant Safety Management Systems;
  • Ensuring that the Safety Reporting and Safety Assurance programmes are properly maintained;
  • Assisting in the development of internal processes and safety procedures;
  • Assisting with Safety Performance Management systems;
  • Assisting with the management and evaluation of operational risk;
  • Ensuring that the requirements of EASA Air Operations 965/2012, the requirements of the TM CAD, and any changes thereto are disseminated to the respective departments;
  • Planning and execution of Internal, External and Service provider/Contractor Safety and Security Audits and following up on corrective actions;
  • Reviewing regulation changes and monitoring the incorporation of changes into the Organisations manuals;
  • Assisting with the management and evaluation of operational risk;
  • Ensuring that the requirements of the Security Programmes under NCASP, EC300/2008 and ICAO Annex 17 are properly maintained;
  • Carry out Safety and Security Training and Maintaining Training Records.
  • Assisting the Safety Manager in conducting both internal and external Emergency Response Drills;
  • Deputize for the Safety and Security Manager in his or her absence.

Ideal Skills and experience:

  • Recognised Higher Diploma (minimum at EQF Level 5) or equivalent;
  • Proven Safety/Compliance Auditing Experience;
  • Knowledge of aircraft operation and maintenance management and associated safety management system principles with a minimum of two years’ experience;
  • Knowledge of the relevant regulations specifically EASA Air Operations;
  • Knowledge of the relevant regulations specifically NCASP, (EC)300/2008, (EU)2015/1998, Decision C(2015)8005 and ICAO Annex 17 will be considered and asset, but training will be provided to the suitable applicant if not;
  • Proficient user of MS Applications and ERP systems;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.

Previous experience in a similar or related position will be considered an asset.
